What is Charming Badger?
Since 2018 Charming Badger has been making little colourful, happy things from a base in Stockport, Greater Manchester. The mission is to make things that make people smile which are as; affordable, environmentally friendly and generally sound as possible. Although the range keeps evolving, the focus is on handpainted laser cut wooden pins and greetings cards at the moment.
Many products are made in small batches and wooden pins are hand finished, so expect unique touches.
I try hard to keep things clean, kind and green;
The Badger likes to stay away from stereotypes, is a bit of a nerd and has a soft spot for mid twentieth century horror and sci fi.
Ironically this monochrome badger loves colour!
Who is Charming Badger?
Like most badgers, Charming Badger is a bit reclusive; that said, if you visit a Charming Badger market stall or similar occasion, you’ll probably meet Jo, Chief Badger.
Jo listened to totally sensible advice about there being no money in art as a teenager and decided not to pursue creative subjects past the age of 14. However, after a long time working in social research support within universities the urge to make just got too much. She now enjoys using a mixture of digital and traditional methods and prefers to be hands on with production, although she likes to collaborate with other makers and producers where this improves the quality of the product without compromising principles.
